Objective The growth of the Internet is an ongoing process: only twenty-five years ago it was connecting about a thousand hosts and has grown ever since to link billions people through computers and mobile devices. One major next step in this development is to progressively evolve from a network of interconnected computers to a network of interconnected objects and create an Internet of things. These objects will sometimes have their own Internet Protocol addresses, be embedded in complex systems and use sensors to obtain information from their environment and/or use actuators to interact with it. This course is to make students learn the basic ideas, the key technologies and the development of “Internet of Things”. The course covers the topics such as, “The Concepts of Internet of Things”, “The Basic Components of Internet of Things”, “Wireless Communication Technologies in Internet of Things”, “Wireless Sensor Networks”, “Data Integration and Aggregation in Internet of Things”, “IPv6 for Internet of Things”, “6LoWPAN adaptation Layer”, ”RPL”, “Security issues for Internet of Things”.2. Course Description “Internet of Things” will be open as advanced elective course for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer and Information Technology majors undergraduate students. It covers the topics of “Internet of Things”, such as, the advanced technologies, development tendencies, major problems and solutions. In general, the course will give students a closer look of Internet of Things” and better understanding of the unique characters of “Internet of Things”. 3.
