Usually action films have the formula like a guy who lost his father, mother who were massacred, then he learns his martial arts, then he tries to revenge, kills the bad guy. But this film talks about much wider and more than that. Talk about the peace, talk about the Chinese people, what kind of Chinese people, can become hero, so its much, much deeper. Jet li: Congratulations on Hero . I mean, is the part very similar to what you normally play?uestion:Q No, its a very special part, in a very special movie. I think its one of the most important action films in my life. uestion:Q Is it very similar to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, for example?No, its totally different. I think Ang Lee is a very talented director. He uses martial arts to talk about love, and a girl, you know. But Zhang Yimou tries to use a martial arts film to talk about Chinese culture, Chinese people, what they think, what they want, what they hope the would will become.Jet Li: Jet, when I mentioned you made your debut on Lethal Weapon 4 in Hollywood, what was it like for you as a Chinese actor to get into Lethal Weapons 4 movie, Western movie and working with western actors?This is my first English film, and I played the bad guy. Its also the first time I played the bad guy. A lot of Asian audience doesnt like me to play the bad guy. But I think I want to become an actor, I want to try different ways, so at that time, I spoke English not well at all. So I played the bad guy, but I really liked it to learn sth from the big Holloywood producers, directors, stars. I feel Im just a student, you know, to go to the states, to learn sth. In past years, I continued to learn American culture, American movie industry, so how to make good movies in the States.
