8BModule 4 Seeing the doctorUnit 2 We have played football for a year now. Period1 Students: Grade Eight Teaching objects1. The students will be able to use the following words to talk about healthy living. well,active,member,perhaps, daily, awful, condition, in excellent condition, take part in, exercise,take part in,member,pet ,etc2. The students will be able to understand the following words and phrases according to the contexts. heart, sleepy, since then, illness, all over, weak, etc3. The students will be able to understand what healthy living is and figure out different peoples healthy living. 4. The students will be able to do critical reading and give advice and introduce their healthy living.Teaching ProceduresStep1、Warming up 1、Enjoy the song Healthy Song before class.2、Chat with the Ss talk about how they keep healthy in their daily life.目的:从英语歌曲热身并导入课堂,有利于以旧引新,同时可以安抚学生情绪,缓解氛围。Step 2、 Reading1、Have the students read and describe the pictures and tell which activities are healthy. 2、Have the Ss skim the passage and find out the people, then match the people with the pictures. 3、Have the Ss read the passage and figure out the four kinds of healthy living.4、Get the Ss to read for the third time and complete the table with notes. And encourage the Ss retell in sentences with the notes in the table. 5、Have the Ss get further understanding the passage through answering questions.6、Get the Ss do critical reading: Is Richard too weak to do any exercise? 7、Encourage the Ss to give Richard advice. Have the Ss pay attention to “learning to learn”.8、Help the students learn to find out what kind of living is really good for health. 9、Have the Ss read the passage individually.Complete Ex. 4 on Page 29. 目的:从图片开始进入阅读,让学生对健康方式有初步了解。本课阅读设计本人尽量多关注对文本内涵的解析。通过整体阅读和细节阅读来训练学生不同的阅读能力。同时,本人在教学过程中有意识引导学生批判性阅读的关注,并关注learning to learn给建议。阅读处理过程中对教材原有Part3的练习用更加丰富的表格代替。Step3、 After reading1、The teacher shows the example of healthy living according to the structure of the paragraph on Page 28. 2、Have the Ss work in pairs and share their healthy living according to the structures of the paragraphs on Page 28.3、Have the Ss share their healthy living in class.目的:在充分阅读的基础上,学生已经对健康生活方式以及如何介绍健康生活方式有了充分的了解。本环节主要引导学生在基于教材文本结构的基础上又跳出教材,并结合自身实际介绍健康生活方式。教师以自身为例进行展示。Step4、 Homework 1、Get ready for the Writing on Page 29. 2、Read the passage for three times after the tape.3、Finish Exercises of Module 4 Unit 2 in Workbook 1.
