Transitional Words,-to indicate time or sequence,表“首先”,firstly / in the first place first of all,first of all: 首先；第一 （强调事物排列顺序） 往往与next, then等搭配。不完全代表重要性。 如: First of all, youre supposed to introduce yourself before speaking .,Firstly:副词, 强调第一个（做完的),最先的 如：Firstly, let us deal with the most important issue. Firstly, Ill mention the advantages, then Ill mention the disadvantages,in the first place：用与列举理由等. 强调首要性。 如：why couldnt you do that in the first place ? I dont want to go there in the first place. 我原来不想去的。,表“同时”,at the same time / meanwhile/ meantime / in the meanwhile,At the same time 用在: 两件事情同一时间发生, 它可以放在句子里,或者自己独立出來, 连接两件同时发生的事情 E.g. How can you walk and read at the same time? My mom is cooking. At the same time, my dad is setting the table.,Meanwhile=meantime meanwhile跟at the same time 一样用在: 两件事情同一时间发生, 但是它只能自己独立出來使用, 连接两件同时发生的事情 E.g. My mom is cooking . Meanwhile, my dad is setting the table.,In the meanwhile 用在: 前提有件事情无法达成，所以同一时间做其它选择 E.g. We dont have any more of your pills. In the meantime, I can offer you an alternative. What do you want to do in the meantime?,表“补充”,Furthermore / Besides / Moreover,Difference： A: Besides：前面一句表达自己的愿望（主观想法），后面阐述的是一个客观原因; Moreover以及Furthermore都表示统一方面理据的叠加 E.g. I dont really want to go. Besides, its too late. 我真的不想去。此外，天太晚了。 The house is too small, and furthermore, its too far from the office. 这座房子太小，而且离办公地点也太远。,B：Moreover & furthermore Moreover：多为补充说明，前面所说的及后面所补充的是并列关系，即补充未说完的话。 E.g.
