Good morning, everyone. Today, Im very glad to stand here to talk about Adverbial Clause of Condition Unit 5 “ If you go to the party, youll have a great time.” This topic is from Book 2 of Grade 2,Students Book, Go for it. I will analyze the unit from three aspects: English Course Standard, Teaching Materials and Teaching Notes. 一. 英语课程标准对本学段的要求As the English course standard requests, the main aim of English course is to cultivate students comprehensive language competence. Students will reach level 5 after this period. Language skills and Language knowledge are the foundation of Comprehensive language competence. Emotion attitudes and Culture Awareness are the insurance and main factors of Students study. Learning strategies is the guarantee of improving study process effectively and forming their self-learning ability.1.语言技能Listening, speaking, reading and writing are four Language skills. (1)Listening : Students are able to understand the pronunciation of familiar topics, get over the barriers of new words to get information and take easy notes. (2)Speaking: Use study tools to get over barriers of new words. Find the main idea and logical relationships.(3)Reading: Students are able to express their opinions and exchange information each other, role play some topics. (4)Writing: Students can prepare materials for writing different forms of compositions, and correct mistakes with the teachers help.Overall, all the language skills lay the foundation of language communication.2. 语言技能 There are 5 aspects phonetics,vocabulary,function, grammar and topic in language knowledge. (1)Phonetics: Students will understand the phonetics by learning the pronunciation, meaning, and spelling in the words. (2)Vocabulary: Students will master the usages and structures of vocabulary, 1500-1600 words and 200-300 idioms. (3)Function: Students will understand the basic structures and expressive function. (4)Grammar : Students can express greetings, thanks, introductions to communicate.(5)Topic: Students will get familiar with the topics about interests and hobbies, daily lives, customs, science and culture. 3.情感态度 Emotion attitudes can arouse students interests and change it into strong will on learning. Ss are willing to cooperate with others and it can enhance their love for motherland and expand their global vision.4.文化意识Students are able to understand the greetings and names, festivals and customs, amusement and sports, geography, history and climate to acquire culture knowledge and differences on culture awareness.5.学习策略As the major factor, learning strategies adjust students ways of study from cognitive strategy, regulating and controlling strategy, resources and communication strategy, also , Ill use task-based teaching method to make students study independently according to their different levels.二单元内容标准There are five aspects in Unit Content Standard. 1.语言技能Students will learn and master new words, jeans, organize, have a great time, go to the party. And first conditional if + will: grammar focus.2. 语言技能As for Language skills students. The unit helps develop the Ss ability of listening, speaking, reading, reading and writing , it also helps to train the Ss how to use their own words to express their ideas3.情感态度Emotion attitudes require students master some rules and good manners. Know more about western cultures.4.文化意识 Culture Awareness refers to understand different manners between eastern and western countries. 5.学习策略They can use communication strategy to communicate with others as much as possible.三编写体例 There are 10-14 learning units in each book and each unit contains 6 pages. Culture reading is added from volume 2 of Grade 8 to Grade 9. And 2 revision units, self-check and additional materials like vocabulary lists and games in addition.四编写特点Language is connected to the culture in the whole GOR FOR IT serious, and passes on the information at any time. The books focus on student-oriented education, teach Ss by their levels. Study is a life-long process, task-based teaching method helps students put what they learned into real life, which helps students choose the right strategies and cultivate students ability of using strategies. In the mean while, evaluation builds up students self-confidence.五单元内容结构There are 5 parts in the content structures. Basic language in Section A, extension in Section B, Self-check and Reading are Content settings. Important and difficult points are words and phrases like restroom, drugstore Object clause with where, how, if and imperative sentence. Topic is about getting around, Students will ask for information politely with the target language. Tasks are designed from easy to difficult in order to solve the problem of limited language and finishing the real tasks.六学情分析The students have learned present progressive (be going to) and will as future tense for long, and have known the conditional adverbial clause if clause. They are able to understand some target languages easily and are interested in them. So they will be interested in this kind of topic. Its helpful for them to know more about some western cultures.七八年级学段知识及立体式整合There are 10 units in Grade 8 Volume 2, they are:第一单元新目标八年级下册 Unit1 Will people have robot?s是一般将来时第二单元Unit 2 What should I do?主要是将一些建议,shuold或could。第三单元Unit 3 What were you doing when the UFO arrived?.主要是讲while与when的用法区别,还涉及到一般过去时第四单元Unit 4 He said I was hard-working.主要学了直接引语和间接引语。第五单元Unit 5 If you go to the party, you will have a great time.是有if引导的条件状语从句第六单元Unit 6 How long have you been colecting shells?l.现在完成进行时第七单元Unit 7 Would you mind turning dow.是动词作宾语第八单元Unit 8 Why dont you get her a scarf.知识点以前就学到过建议之类的语法第九单元Unit 9 Have you ever been to an amusement park?.是现在完成时,是重点第十单元Unit 10 Its a nice day,isnt it?学习了反义疑问句。From grammar we can see Adverbial Clause of Condition is widely used in Unit 5. It combines students ability to use the present tense and the future tense. They have learned the present tense in grade 7, and the future tense in grade 8, book 1.As we can see from the connection, this unit promotes students communication ability. Put the knowledge into our real life.七教学建议As the reform of English course, which requires us to treat teaching materials reasonably and have the new concept of English course. Learning should be based on basic skills. Combining, altering, replacing and adjusting the order and process according to students levels is a good way of adjusting lessons. Change the presentation of teaching materials by resources like internet, power point and so on. Teachers should use task-based language teaching methods to cultivate students comprehensive language competence. We should face all the students, use learning strategies to guide students and concern students emotion to extend their cultural vision.I designed 3 tasks for the class. Task 1: remember these proverbs.Let students choose one of their favorite proverbs to remember and have a competition. See who does it fast and which team does it faster.Task 2: guess and linkLet students guess the consequences that may happen if they do these stuffs. Then choose 2of them to practice and show to the whole class. Task 3:the rules of end of year partyLet students list the rules teachers may ask for, discuss the forms in groups and write a notice and stick it on the board. When next time we have the party, we will obey the rules.七 评价建议Evaluation should base on the atmosphere of the objective, impartial and open foundation. There are 3 Evaluation notes Id like to suggest.(1)Final evaluation goes to test students knowledge and skills, which includes teacher evaluation, group evaluation and student evaluation. We can use the evaluation paper or oral evaluation to evaluate students study. (2)Pluralistic evaluation lays the foundation of teachers, parents and students participating. Students will have a full-scale idea of themselves. It will also promote their next step of learning by using report, investigation, study files, self evaluation to monitor their learning process.(3)We can also evaluate students from their different levels like praising and encouragement through the whole class, which will build up their good attitudes towards English course. As teachers, we should always find the good aspects of students, respect the individual differences and encourage students to make progress after a period of study.八课程资源的开发与利用As for the Development and Usages of course resources. We should make good use of teaching materials and pick up the knowledge which is suitable for Students promotion and life-long development from outside school. Change the ways of presentation like singing English songs, using power point , cards, tape recorder and internet to arouse their interests, even provide feedback information to help Ss analyze the mistakes and arrange certain knowledge , help students reach the language goal in a short time.We can organize school and society activities as well like Competitions, English corner, and go to the communities, factories to practice using English, change the knowledge into practical abilitiesFor some students English is hard. But if we put our heart into it and study English Course Standard and find the relationships among knowledge points, use the appropriate teaching method, students will find the happiness in it. Students will not only study some words, phrases and drills, but also understand the differences and culture background between western countries and eastern countries to cultivate their awareness of the whole world through English learning. For them, English is not only a single language, but also an open eye to the outside world. May my students enjoy English, have the wings to fly higher!
