人教版英语 必修一Unit 4 EarthquakesA Night the Earth Didnt SleepReading阅读课教学活动设计乌鲁木齐外国语学校第12中学 赵静Unit 4 EarthquakesA Night the Earth Didnt SleepReading Background Information Students: 45 senior high school students Lesson duration: 45mins Book: NSEFC Book 1I、Analysis on the text 教材内容分析Reading局部具体描写1976年河北唐山大地震的震前,震中和震后。作者详细描述了地震来临前的一些不正常的自然现象及动物的反常表现,地震的来势汹汹,并在顷刻间将整座城市夷为平地和地震结束后人们勇敢地面对事实并及时地实施抢救和重建工作。本课词汇量大,并运用了大量的动词,使得描写更为生动,文中还有不少复杂的数字,这又增加了文章的阅读难度,另外文章中出现了许多定语从句,对学生的语言阅读能力提出了更高的要求。II、Teaching aims教学目标知识,技能,情感态度、价值观1. Activities.V、Teaching AidsMulti-media computer, PPT, pictures, blackboard, chalkVI、Teaching procedures: (过程与方法)Step 1 Lead in:让学生通过猜的方式,导入到本课的话题地震,引起学生想要读的兴趣。Guessing: What is it?It is from nature;It is easy to be angry;It loves humans but they hate it;It loves shaking and travelling , 4 years ago it visited Wenchuan.Students can guess it is “earthquake.Step 2 Pre-reading 1. Ask students to watch a video on what is happening during the earthquakes .通过给学生放映百度中查询到并下载的地震瞬间的视频,让学生直观地感受,这样一种灾难给人类会造成何种损失,让学生有话可说。2. Ask some students to speak out their ideas about “What damages will an earthquake cause? after a discussion.给学生时间小组讨论,让学生活动起来,进一步深入学习目标。3. New words learning:First, show pictures to the students to encourage them to guess the meanings of the new words.在让学生讨论之后,学生有些想表达的词表达不到位,也就到了学习生词的时间;每个生词后都链接了一到两幅图片,每幅图片均来源于百度强大的搜索功能,学生通过看生动的图片和老师适当的解释说明,能猜出每个生词的意思。What damages?Earthquakefall downbe in ruinsinjured bury in bricksburstPeople, the buildings, the roads, water pipes, electricitycrackcut offdestroy4. The earth shook like crazy that night, ruining Tangshan.Step 3 While-reading 1. Fast reading to get the main idea.猜过文章大意,让学生开始读文章,证实自己的猜想并且尝试去概括整篇文章的大意。1. Step 4 : Post-reading 以时间为线索,让学生把原有的四段分成三段,并且分别概括三局部的大意,进一步训练学生的发现问题、分析问题、解决问题的能力Divide the passage into 3 parts.Read the whole passage again and get the main ideas of each part: Part . (Pra4) after the earthquakeThe help to the survivorsStep 5 : Comprehending:这一步的练习设计目标是为了让学生了解文章的局部细节的问题,为了使学生更加熟悉文章所讲,为后一步的德育升华做平稳的铺垫。Group work: Discuss in groups to finish Task A and Task B. Task A: Decide whether the sentences are true or false.1. There were one million people in Tangshan at that time.2. The earthquake began 10 kilometers directly below the city.3. Not only the people but also the animals were shocked greatly.4 There was only one quake at that time.5. Only supply of water and electricity was cut off. 6. Workers rescued most of the 10,000 coal miners to the south of the city.7. Before the earthquake there wasnt anything strange happening.8. Almost everything in Tangshan was destroyed.Task B: 1. Look for some information about Wenchuan and Yushu through the newspaper, internet or other resources. Write something about earthquake there.
