Period 8Grammar合并每对句子,不要改变顺序,把括号内的词放在开头或中间。1. Im going to move abroad. The weather is so awful here. (because)_2. I didnt buy that coat. It was so expensive. (as)_3. I get to Beijing.I will write to you.(as soon as)_4. The teacher raised his voice.The students in the back could hear more clearly.(in order that)_5It was dark.We could see nothing in front of us.(so that)_状语从句状语从句主要用来修饰主句或主句的谓语。一般可分为九大类,分别表示时间、地点、原因、目的、结果、条件、让步、比较和方式。一、时间状语从句1由when,while,as,after,before,once,since,till/until等来引导的时间状语从句。It will be four days before they come back.他们要过四天才能回来。2名词短语引导的时间状语从句名词短语the moment,the minute,the instant,each time,every time,next time等也可以引导时间状语从句。Each time/Every time he came to my city,he would call on me.每次他到我所在的城市,都会来看我。3其他连词引导的时间状语从句immediately,instantly,directly,as soon as,no sooner.than.,hardly.when.等引导时间状语从句,表示“一就”。no sooner.than.,hardly.when.引导的表示时间的句子,从句用一般过去时,主句用过去完成时。当no sooner,hardly位于句首时,主句要用部分倒装。The young lady rushed into the room immediately she heard the noise.那位年轻女士一听到响声就冲进了房间。No sooner had he reached home than it began to rain.他刚到家,天就开始下雨了。二、让步状语从句1由though,although,as,even if,even though,while引导的让步状语从句。(1)although引导的让步状语从句不倒装。(2)as引导让步状语从句时,从句的表语、状语或谓语中的实义动词需提前至句首,如果表语是带冠词的名词,冠词需要省略。(3)though引导的让步状语从句可以倒装也可以不倒装,倒装时用法同as。此外though还可用作副词,常置于句末,意为“可是,不过,然而”。Although its raining,they are still working in the field.虽然在下雨,但他们仍在地里干活。Child as he is,he knows a lot.尽管他是个孩子,他却懂得很多。2由no matter what/which/who/when/where或whatever,whichever,however等引导的让步状语从句。You have to go on,whatever/no matter what difficulties you meet.无论遇到什么困难你都得继续下去。三、原因状语从句1常见的连接词:because,since,as,seeing that,now (that),in that,considering that,for the reason that。Now that youre here,why not have a drink.既然你来了,就喝一杯吧。2because,as,for,since辨析(1)because为从属连词。着重于直接、明白地说明原因和理由,通常表示说话人认为这种理由或原因是听话人所不知道的。Did you return Freds call?I didnt need to _ Ill see him tomorrow.Athough BunlessCwhen Dbecause(2)as语气最弱,多用于口语中。as所引导的从句只是附带说明较明显的原因或理由,重点在主句。Jenny was very sad over the loss of the photos she had shot at Canada,_ this was a memory she especially treasured.Aas Bif Cwhen Dwhere(3) for为并列连词。所引导的句子只能位于后面。for的语气比because弱,具有推测性或对前面的句子加以解释。He found it increasingly difficult to read,_his eyesight was beginning to fail.Athough BforCbut Dso(4)since语气比because弱,比as强。指人们已知的事实,意为“既然”,引导的从句常放在句首。_ you are leaving tomorrow,we can eat dinner together tonight.AFor BSinceCBefore DWhile四、结果状语从句1常见的连接词:so.that,such.that,so that等。He didnt finish his homework,so (that) he was punished.他没能完成作业,因而受到了惩罚。2so.that与such.that(1)结构形式suchthat.There are so many stars in the universe that it is impossible to count them all.宇宙里星星多得无法数清。He made such an excellent speech that everyone admired him.他作了个如此精彩的演讲以致于每个人都崇拜他。(2)当so或such置于句首时,主句部分倒装。Such a good boy is he that we all love him.他是那么好的一个孩子,我们都喜欢他。(3)在so.that句型中,that可以省略。You walk so fast (that) I cant keep pace with you.你走得太快,我跟不上你。五、目的状语从句1常见的连接词:so that,in order that,for fear that,in case等。Take an umbrella with you for fear that it may rain.随身带着雨伞以防下雨。2so that与 in order that引导目的状语从句时,从句谓语动词常与can,could,may,might,should,would连用。They climbed higher so that they might/could get a better view of the city.他们攀登得高一些,以便更好地观看全城。3目的状语从句与不定式的转换:当主句和从句的主语一致时,目的状语从句可以与in order to,so as to或表目的的不定式转换。Well sit in the front of the hall so that we can hear better.Well sit in the front of the hall so as/in order to hear better.我们要坐在大厅的前面,以便听得更清楚。1_ volleyball is her main focus,shes also great at basketball.(2011北京,29)ASince BOnceCUnless DWhile2Please call my secretary to arrange a meeting this afternoon,or _ it is convenient to you.(2011江西,29)Awhenever BhoweverCwhichever Dwherever3Tim is in good shape physically_he doesnt get much exercise.(2010湖南,32)Aif Beven thoughCunless Das long as4How about camping this weekend,just for a change?OK,_you want.(2010浙江,1)Awhichever BhoweverCwhatever Dwhoever5The old man asked Lucy to move to another chair_he wanted to sit next to his wife.(2010辽宁,29)Aalthough BunlessCbecause Dif1In this world there is no short cut to take.Everyone,no matter how clever he is,cant achieve success,_he works hard.Aas long as Beven thoughCunless Dalthough2_we admit that there are still some problems about NMET,we dont mean that it is of no use.AUntil BWhile CAs DUnless3The next moment,_she had time to realize what was happening,she was hit over the head.Asince Bwhen Cbefore Dafter4Have you been acquainted with each other for long?Not very long,_we started to work in the company.Aafter Bbefore Cwhen Dsince5No matter how many adults use the language,_it isnt passed to the next generation,it cannot survive.Aif Beven thoughCas Das far asPeriod 8Grammar课前准备区1Im going to move abroad because the weather is so awful here.2I didnt buy the coat as it was so expensive.3As soon as I get to Beijing,I will write to you.4. The teacher raised his voice in order that the students in the back could hear more clearly.5It was dark so that we could see nothing in front of us.课堂活动区三、2.(1)D考查连词的用法。由句意“因为我明天就要见到Fred,所以没有必要给他回电话。”可知,用because 引导原因状语从句。(2)A考查连词的用法。句意为:詹妮为她丢失的在加拿大拍摄的照片而非常难过,因为这是她特别珍藏的一段记忆。主句与从句是一种因果关系。故选A项。(3)B考查句子的逻辑关系。由语境可知,后一个分句“视力开始下降”是前一个分句“读书越来越困难”的原因。所以for引导原因状语从句。故选B项。(4)B考查连词的用法。句意为:既然你明天动身,今晚我们可以一起进餐。空白处应用表示原因的连词。所以排除C、D两项。虽然for和since都可以引导原因状语从句,但since所陈述的理由是彼此已知道的事,通常出现在句首;而for引导的原因状语从句不放在句首,且用逗号与前面主句分开。故答案为B项。感悟高考1D句意为:虽然排球是她的主要核心项目,但是她篮球打得也很棒。根据句意可知,这里表示让步关系。while虽然,符合句意。since既然;once一旦;unless除非。 2A句意为:请打电话让我的秘书安排一个会议,在今天下午或是任何你方便的时候。whenever无论何时;however无论如何;whichever无论哪一个;wherever无论何地。此处or连接的是和this afternoon并列的两个时间状语(从句),故只有A项正确。3B句意为:Tim尽管不怎么锻炼,但体型很好。if如果;even though即使,尽管;unless如果不,除非;as long as只要。4C句意为:这个周末我们换一下方式,去野营怎么样啊?好的,你想做什么就做什么。答语为省略句式,全句应为:OK,whatever you want to do.。whichever不论哪个;however无论怎样;whatever无论什么,不管什么;whoever不论是谁。5C句意为:那位老者要求露西坐另一把椅子,因为他想与妻子紧挨着坐在一起。although虽然,尽管;unless除非;because因为;if如果。由句意知选C。对点训练1C2.B3.C4.D5.A4
